The project concerns the renovation of Keresbino, a 90 sqm hostel in Hydra, housed in an old warehouse building of 1780 that was refurbished and reused.
In an effort to highlight the historicity and the aesthetics of the earlier era, the architectural composition chose classic, traditional lines, maintaining the materiality of the walls, floors and ceiling and continuing with discreet interventions in the individual spatial and decorative elements. The element of stone and aged wood prevale in the space, while tones of white and grey are chosen for the rest of the walls as well as the surfaces of fixed and removable furniture. The design of certain durable, built-in furniture (sofa, bed) enhance the elements of stone and slate. Last but not least, older wooden furniture is preserved and reused.
