Third Place is a specialty coffee shop housed on the ground floor of a typical 1960s-style apartment building in the heart of the historical center of Athens. The brainchild of the creative couple Katerina and Michalis celebrates slow living, offering a hub where everyone can enjoy specialty coffee, co-work, find high-end objects, or simply relax. The space takes its name from sociologist Ray Oldenburg and his theory based on sharing our lives between three places – our home, our workspace and a neutral area, the ‘Third Place’, where we can exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships. Through a range of specialty drinks and bites including Greek coffee blends and beers, organic spirits and herbs, NY-style cookies, handmade ice creams and more, Third Place offers a complete experience of high aesthetics and cool vibes. The couple’s passion for interior design led to the expansion of the space with a retail section featuring a selection of coffee ware and tabletop objects, some of which are found exclusively there in Greece.
