Nestled in the vibrant 11th district of Paris, Taverna invites guests on a culinary journey through the Mediterranean. Founded by Chef Paul-Henri Bayart and his Cypriot-French wife Margaux Varnavidou, Taverna is a testament to family, friendship, and the shared love for good food. The couple’s vision is to recreate the convivial spirit, generosity, and festivity reminiscent of Greek and Cypriot tavernas right in the heart of Paris.
The menu at Taverna is a fusion of reinterpreted mezedes that change with the seasons; taramosalata with bottarga powder, fried calamari with boukovo mayonnaise, orange blossom ice cream with olive oil. What sets Taverna apart is its unique blend of modern design and traditional charm. Inside, stainless steel harmoniously coexisting with vintage handmade baskets, wooden and metal sieves, lefkara lace and art pieces from the renowned Alekos Fassianos. A delightful surprise awaits in the form of a colorful bathroom, an artistic canvas entirely hand-painted by the couple’s two young sons. Taverna Paris goes beyond being just a restaurant; it’s a welcoming haven where friends and families unite to enjoy fresh, flavorful food, raise glasses filled with wine and celebrate the simple beauty of life.
