Greco is an authentic Greek restaurant in Ezorei Chen, a residential neighborhood in the north of Tel Aviv, which draws from the age-old Greek tradition of love for great food in company with others. Situated in the heart of a lovely park, a short distance from Tel Baruch beach, its homey atmosphere invites everybody to enjoy an intimate culinary experience accompanied by live Greek music. Food is served ‘Disco’ style, on trays loaded with meze dishes, as a means to embody the culinary experience of togetherness, shared conversation and heartfelt attachment. The menu was inspired by the owners’ love affair with the Mediterranean and local Greek chefs were brought in to consult and cook. Its popular dishes are traditionally prepared with equipment brought from the motherland, to include souvlaki, lamb gyros, Cretan salads, spinage Pies, lahanodolmades and many more. Drawing from the traditional drinking culture in Greece, the restaurant’s bar features the largest and most diversified anise menu in the country – over 100 anise drinks, a huge selection of ouzo drinks, arak drinks and classic anise cocktails from around the world. Greco was designed by Dan Troim, the architect responsible for the interior design of some of the most successful restaurants in the city. The design rests on the traditional, authentic Greek concept with a modern, light interpretation. Classic and contemporary elements come together to create what Troim defines as “a convergence between the warmth and hospitality found in typical ‘workingman’s’ restaurants, and the restraint of urban chic”.
