Salty Bag is an innovative business that redefines what most people think of as waste by creating handmade bags from recycled sails. Based on the idea of upcycling, it takes used sails and breathes new life into them by creating high quality bags and travel gear. Each product is meticulously handcrafted and is named after a unique place in Greece.
In addition, it’s accompanied by a booklet informing the owner of the previous life of the sail – its travels across the seas and the stories behind them.
In line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Salty Bag’s new line ‘Road to Rio’ consists of bags from sails that have gained the greatest distinctions in Greek sailing. All the sale profits from the new line will be put towards supporting the Greek sailing teams for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, in an attempt give back to the sailing community and help the efforts of the country’s teams in the contest.
