Traditional knitwear techniques combined with minimal and timeless designs have led Alexandra Kouziaki, a third-generation knitter, to the creation of her own brand. Plexida is a slow fashion knitwear brand, ethically handcrafted in Northern Greece.
The craft of knitting was passed down from woman to woman in Alexandra’s family; from her great-grandmother, a silk-worm farmer, to her mother, a professional knitter. Following a sustainability philosophy, the textile artist creates environmentally friendly garments and accessories with a vision for them to become part of each owner’s personal story. Having the zero-waste approach in mind, each piece is either made to order or pre-made in limited batches, while all yarn scraps are saved up for future projects. Inspired by simple yet sophisticated forms, Plexida knitwear consists of effortless and refined designs that celebrate comfort and craftsmanship, with each piece being made by hand from start to finish.
