In his AW14 collection entitled ‘Constantinople’, Nassos Ntotsikas returns to the city that impregnates his design pen with inspiration, creating classy and sophisticated clothes that emphasize the feminine silhouette. Setting the boundless, mystical world of the oriental landscape as the driving force of his knitting needles, he chooses the urban fabric of Istanbul as his fellow companion. The designer draws from the architecture and the smells of the city, from the mazes of alleys and the endless hustle and bustle, and knits his creations under the guidance of the mystery veil of its history. The garments are defined by clear-cut lines and high quality materials such as mohair and silk, wool and cotton, using colors such as black, gold, bordeaux, green and red brass. It’s a contemporary collection with vintage touches, which brings to mind the multi-colored hoards of spice in the neighborhoods of Istanbul, the vibrant result of a spiritual journey that celebrates the warm folds of the female body.
