The new collection of Myksa is influenced by the love & sex in today’s society. With this project, the label rejects society’s sentimental pressures and sex stereotypes, as well as the excessive sexual expression and repression of pure emotions. The message of the project is this: “BE YOUR OWN LOBSTER & FEEL FREE”.
In Myksa’s first swimwear collection, the 80’s influences are certainly obvious. “We believe in the constant values and the romanticism of the past. Moreover a large part of the project is our muse Carol Doda. She was a topless dancer with activity in San Francisco (California) since 1960 and during 1980. Pioneering of the time, she became known as the first topless show woman and a very SEXY gal. Our SS16 muse was not picked by chance. It is our belief that the element of sensuality is something missing from the everyday life of modern women. Unfortunately the word sexy is connected with inelegance in our society, two elements which for sure are not the same. We urge women to experiment with their female side and feel comfortable with their perfect imperfections”.
“Enjoy your body
Use it every way you can
Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it
It’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own”
