Inspired by Greece’s sunlight, Athina Korda inserts for the first time in her ‘Gold Scans’ SS15 collection prints and bright colors, using yellow as threads of light to illuminate her usual austere and dark colored designs. Ethereal and simultaneously austere are the words that characterize the dresses, the culottes, and the shirtwaists. Black and white succeed each other, tangled in impressive geometrical patterns and flowers, whereas the all-times classic stylish beige and the controversial pal yellow enrich the collection with the illusion of sparks of light. Once again, designer Athina Korda balances between the chic and the controversial. By incorporating new elements in her collection without losing her identity, which is characterized by austere but simultaneously feminine geometrical designs with discrete but exceptional details, she creates a game between symmetry and asymmetry.
