For Autumn Winter 2014, Angelos Bratis proposes a wardrobe of reinvented essential pieces, based on little black dresses, morning skirt suits, coats, and cocktail and evening dresses. Similar to a film noir heroine, the woman of this collection feels powerful and desirable, in austere geometrical silhouettes that gain softness through the use of precious materials: silk back crepe, chiffon, lame, lurex, double wools and herringbones. The color palette is muted, with absolute black being the protagonist, absorbing or reflecting the light in different surfaces, while dusty silver and various shades of gold dress the late hours. His new volumes suggest control and a hidden sensuality. Bias-cut tube dresses suit the female body like a glove, while the symmetrically pinned and tacked draping details are reminiscent of healed scars.
