For the fifth year the International Film Festival of Patmos unites us and invites us to one of the most beautiful islands of the Southeast Aegean. A festival in a remote island that managed in five years to be a meeting point and source of inspiration for artists and cinematographers from all over the world. This years IFFP is a tribute to the individual hero, be it everyday or extraordinary, to the portraits of cinematic characters, with the focus on their struggles, passions, or personal comedies.
During the festival, 35 documentaries, features, and short films have been chosen by the festival committee from 2,500 submissions. In collaboration with local authorities and the hotels of Patmos, the festival will take place in some of the most unique settings on Patmos. As in other years, 10 series of workshops, seminars and speeches will be given by renowned international artists and cinematographers. For the second consecutive year, IFFP will partner with Sundance Channel, whose mission to celebrate creativity in independent film from around the globe aligns with the IFFP vision.
Members of the jury are important representatives of Greek cinema such as director Tassos Boulmetis and producer Alexandra Bousiou. Last years winning screenplay, Luz, will be premiering at the festival before the announcement of this years winner. Greek and foreign artists and cinematographers have collaborated for five years now, coming together and combining their strengths to screen their work for an audience that comes from all over Greece and abroad. An alive and culturally dynamic society, a fertile environment that unites different cultures and ideas – this is IFFP. We’ve planned our rendezvous in Patmos and are waiting for you!
