The Felt Spirals Necklace is an easy-to-wear, smartly designed necklace that can be produced by one person with simple tools and low cost materials. It was created while searching for new materials that combine good quality, great variety of colors, convenience and good price. The main components of the necklace are beads made out of hand-rolled felt pieces and high quality synthetic silk cord (rayon). Every bead is rolled separately by hand. They are then sewn together with coated stainless steel wire, a material particularly suitable for jewelry due to its strength. The finishing of the necklace is the silk cord. The cord is attached to the beaded part of the necklace with wire, thread and felt pieces. Sometimes hard beads are being used to complete the design. Due to its material the necklace is lightweight and can easily change position on the bust. Because of the use of silk cord the necklace looks beautiful even if it stands asymmetrically.
The Felt Spirals Necklace was granted the 2015 A’ Design Award in Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Category by the grand jury panel of the A’ Design Award & Competition.
