Conceived from the shared dreams of Manthos Kaloumenos, hailing from the serene village of Kardiani in Tinos, and Virginie Muys, with her French-Belgian heritage, Taxidi is a space deeply rooted in culture and creativity. Inspired by Cavafy’s poem ‘Ithaca’, Taxidi invites visitors to slow down, learn and connect in a welcoming atmosphere. Serving as a hub for artistic exchange, Taxidi is a café, a shop, a gallery, and a workshop all rolled into one. There, individuals of all ages and passions converge, celebrating the rich artistic heritage of Tinos and fostering cultural revitalization. In the café, emphasis is placed on using locally sourced, seasonal and organic ingredients. From fresh herbs grown onsite to collaborations with Greek suppliers like Verve for juices and Rhoeco for herbal teas to coffee, sourced from Kudu Coffee, reflects Taxidi’s commitment to authenticity and quality. In every corner of Taxidi, there’s a story waiting to be discovered—a tale of craftsmanship, tradition and community.
