Our modern interiors have become too real. Chairs, carpets, lamps, desks; everything has a clearly defined function. There is not much left to our imagination. As efficiency and functionality grow, living spaces become less personal and intimate. With these three abstract objects of enigmatic function, Kotoulas wants to stimulate our senses and revive a feeling of intimacy. A soft sculpture of fabrics is highly snuggleworthy. The rich textures trigger the sense of touch and the warm colours satisfy your eyes turning your couch into an inviting playground. Two heavy, elongated seed bags on the floor invite you to dig in. Their great weight will help to ground your body and release your tension. A smoothly rotating mobile captures the eye and sets of a daydream. The fabrics for the project were kindly provided by Pierre Frey and Febrik.
