Atlas Shopper by STUDIOLAV

With this tin and leather tote bag, STUDIOLAV turned the traditional blue and white tin food container (tenekes) into a witty fashion accessory for a daily wander in the city. This iconic everyday object, which was used for decades to store and transport olive oil and feta cheese – two of the most popular culinary goods of Greece – now adorns and services its users in a different way. The Atlas Shopper was created in response to DING’s (a design retail store) invitation to use the traditional tin container as raw material for a design object.
