Vasilis Papageorgiou
Papageorgiou’s artistic journey began with studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts, in Greece, and the Luca School of Arts in Brussels. He has presented his work at the 7th Athens Biennale – Eclipse (2021), at the Benaki Museum, Athens in collaboration with New Museum, New York (2019), Stavros Niarchos Cultural Foundation (2019), MAXXI – the National Museum of 21st Century Arts (2019), 6th Moscow International Biennale for Young Arts (2018) and the NEON Organisation (2018) among others. He has been the recipient of various fellowships and awards, most recently the Matteo Viglietta Award – Collezione La Gaia, Turin (2022). In the spring of 2023, Papageorgiou found inspiration and artistic exploration in residence at LUMA Arles. Beyond his individual artistic pursuits, Vasilis Papageorgiou is also the co-founder of Enterprise Projects, an influential artist and curator initiative, and project space that has been a driving force in the artistic scene of Athens since its establishment in 2015.
