Blaqk is an artistic duo from Athens that combines calligraphy with shapes and geometrical lines, creating balanced compositions – which can sometimes give the impression of floating – using different types of materials. Graphic designers Greg Papagrigoriou and Chris Tzaferos (Simek) have been collaborating for the past five years, researching and experimenting between forms, patterns and typography (often used as an abstract decorative elements in their compositions), ending up with unique results. As a team, they have a common methodology, they love to experiment, trying out new techniques and adjusting their creations based on the location they are working on – places, often abandoned, with special natural textures. Their latest exhibition (Moving from A to B) took place at the Optimist Psinakis Store, which was recently designed by 314 Architecture Studio.
