Using natural colors and materials to create a restful environment, Studiokontodimas has created a contemporary holiday villa, emerging from a hillside on the island of Tinos. Drawing inspiration from the earthy nature of local architecture, architect Alexis Kontodimas used warm tones of earthen brown and light neutrals, as well as raw materials such as plastered walls, cane pergolas, cement screed floors, and travertine verandas to complete the minimalist villa. The stunning views of the Aegean Sea are filtered through masonry block screens, while the interior space accommodates a spacious indoor lounge area with food preparation facilities, various guest rooms, and a large swimming pool. Creating a cluster of volumes arranged to emulate a small Greek island neighborhood, the cliffside villa is a modern fusion of soft tones and geometric patterns that create a serene atmosphere of relaxation, in total sync with the natural surroundings.
