Located at the heart of the traditional settlement of Parikia in Paros, “Spolia House” is a minimal holiday residence taking cues from its neighboring Byzantine church of Ag. Marina. Completed by NoDāta Architecture, the house references the marble inlays “spolia” that preexisted on the site. The idea predominates in both interior and exterior design. The exterior facade resembles that of the church through the use of marble elements. On the interior, the role of Spolia, beside the marble countertop, is enhanced by the old furniture that the team chose to reuse. A primarily neutral palette blends perfectly with the dark wooden furniture and the pastel-colored kitchen cabinets, creating a fusion of traditional style and contemporary design.
