Oktana has reimagined Moschoviti Manor, a three-story residence in the Old Town of Rethymnon, Crete. Situated behind the Rimondi Fountain, a hallmark of the Cretan Renaissance, this early 19th-century stone house spans 192 square meters across three levels and reveals a narrative shaped by two historical periods: its ground floor, built during the Turkish occupation (-1800), and its upper floors, added in the early 1950s post-war era. The restoration retained key architectural features, including the original openings and the prominent triangular masonry cladding of the courtyard doorway. Exterior walls were strengthened with grout and coated with earthy pozzolanic mortar, while new wooden-framed windows subtly modernize the facades. Inside, beige limestone floors echo the Rimondi Fountain, and a palette of earthy tones enhances the historic character. Vibrant furniture selections bring a fresh, lively feel, blending seamlessly with the timeless elegance of the space. Moschoviti Manor’s revival respects its rich history while creating a welcoming home that bridges the past and present.
