Bobotis + Bobotis Architects have designed a villa overlooking Fokos Bay in Mykonos, blending modern luxury with the island’s natural beauty. Set on a cliff, Casa Gaia offers breathtaking 270-degree views of the Aegean Sea. The villa’s design flows with the island’s landscape, featuring a terracotta-tiled terrace that effortlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces. Each room is positioned to maximize views, filled with natural light and earthy tones. The house spans three levels. The top floor is a private haven with a master bedroom, swimming pool, outdoor bar and fire pit. The mid-level includes two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, an outdoor kitchen and a yoga space. The lower level houses more bedrooms, a communal lap pool, outdoor showers, a cinema room, a bar, and staff quarters. The villa’s facade uses local stone and smooth lime coating, chosen for its durability and natural look. Corten steel door frames add a rustic touch that echoes the surrounding landscape. The expansive outdoor terrace, with a wooden pergola and straw-thatched roof, merges seamlessly with the living areas. Inside, archways create a fluid transition between rooms, while custom wooden details and earthy materials give the interiors a warm, Mediterranean feel. The master bedroom lies at the heart of the villa, featuring a freestanding green marble shower and panoramic sea views. A vaulted ceiling enhances the sense of space, making it a serene retreat within the villa.
