Isola Studio has breathed new life into Aragosta Beach Club on Corfu Island’s Paleokastritsa beach. Originally built in 1932 and later incorporated into the Xenia projects of the 1950s, the building had fallen into disrepair over the years. The recent renovation transforms this once-neglected structure into a luxurious beachside retreat that blends the charm of the 1960s with modern amenities. The design concept focuses on integrating the beach club seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Pathways and terraces connect the building to the beach, encouraging movement and exploration. The outdoor spaces, carefully landscaped with native plants, offer varied seating areas including a garden, lounge, café and dining space. These areas are designed to provide guests with experiences ranging from quiet relaxation to social interaction. Inspired by vintage Italian summers, the renovation uses natural materials like stone and wood, paired with mid-century modern furniture and bold-colored fabrics, to create a timeless yet contemporary ambiance. The dining area, situated on a wooden deck between the building and the sea, features custom-made furniture and warm, inviting lighting. By blending historical charm with modern design, the project honors Corfu’s rich heritage while creating a vibrant, welcoming space for today’s visitors.
