A calm residential neighborhood close to the sea side of Athens was chosen by the jewelry designer Sahar Zaghloul to set up her Greek escape.
Originally from Cairo, Sahar was seeking for a flat with the facilities of one in the city, combining comfort, a feeling of relax, lightness and contemporaneity. To reach this goal on interiors, the Milan based Ciarmoli Queda studio was enlisted. Its partners – Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda – having approached previous interiors projects in the country were willing to start this new project.
Counting 197 sqm ( 156 without the terrace ) the apartment has been entirely renovated in order to meet the client needs. A natural ton sur ton color scheme refers to the shades of the sand. A painting of Nadeen El Rashidy with a strong presence of blue inspired accents of this color in every room and mostly in the kitchen, where a vivid cobalt becomes main protagonist.
Finishings are natural oak for the parquet flooring and Oikos paint finishing – same color for wall and ceilings. The bathrooms are cladded with big slabs of Florim or Bisazza in light tones of grey along with glass and ash-tree wood with charcoal finishing for the basin countertop units.
An accurate furniture selection has been done in order to achieve a timeless feeling of beauty and quality. Italian furnishings coexist harmonically with a couple of vintage items or some pieces produced locally. A range of comfortable fabrics from Italian makers are balanced by luxurious textile accessories by Ciarmoli Queda Essentials label. Being the duo of interior designers very curious and always in search of innovation, they added a series of natural fabrics researched locally.
A collection of paintings, drawings and contemporary marble sculptures representing the female figure provide a decorative statement in the linearity of the scene and remind the charismatic woman that the owner is.
