Located in the vibrant Astoria neighborhood of New York City, the Hellenic Aesthetic pays homage to Greek culture and craftsmanship. Designed by SOUTH architecture, this boutique is the physical manifestation of the renowned Hellenic Aesthetic platform, dedicated to introducing Greek brands to the US. Drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of the Aegean, the store’s design blends tradition with innovation. Inside, visitors are greeted by three barrel-vaulted structures, each adorned with niches and cut-outs to showcase the curated selection of products. The interior is a study in contrast, with a clean white backdrop providing the perfect canvas for the vivid colors of the merchandise. Locally sourced slate stone tiles pave the floor in an irregular pattern, adding a touch of authenticity to the space. Throughout the store, the integration of vaulted structures into the existing brick walls creates a sense of fluidity and openness. It’s a modern interpretation of a Mediterranean dwelling, where the past meets the present in a harmonious dance of light and shadow.
