Perched atop a typical Athenian residential building, the Ignatiou Apartment, a collaborative vision of three friends, redefines small-space living. Spanning 22m2 with an adjacent 27m2 veranda, this rooftop dwelling draws inspiration from traditional Greek island homes. Unlike conventional approaches, the apartment embraces density, dividing its space into four zones: a dynamic kitchen and living area at the front, a cozy bedroom and bathroom at the back, connected by a discreet corridor leading to a secluded balcony. The entrance strategically placed at the center frees up walls and corners for diverse functionalities. Clever spatial elements, like curtains and sliding partitions, add adaptability. The color palette, evoking an underwater ambiance, mirrors the expansive veranda, seamlessly connecting interior and exterior through retractable glass partitions. The veranda, adorned with a colonnade, built-in furniture, and planters, serves as an outdoor room. A steel railing extends beyond, creating an illusion of boundless space.
