Mado Samiou Architecture transforms a 1970s Athenian apartment into a vibrant modern retreat, blending bold pop influences with contemporary style. The open-plan layout invites the city indoors through expansive windows, while deep blue lacquered wood, vivid red metal accents, anthracite fixtures, and a mix of marbles create an eclectic, eye-catching interior. A single arched doorway leads to private areas, where oak ceiling panels, water-repellent cement-coated walls, and nostalgic marbles combine functionality with flair. Clever storage solutions and natural light maximize the apartment’s usability and comfort. On the balcony, preserved terrazzo flooring meets retro-inspired patterns in fresh hues, evoking a timeless Greek summer. The redesign pays homage to the 70s while embracing modern creativity, resulting in a bold and playful urban sanctuary.
