Architect Lena Sparis updated a typical, downtown Athenian apartment into a law and notary public office. Originally designed in the 1950s, the space consisted of multiple medium size rooms flowing into one another through sliding doors, herringbone oak floors, and sunny views of the city.
The existing layout worked in favor of the new brief that required a reception-waiting area, four independent workstations, one large multipurpose room to accommodate the owner’s workspace, a large conference table, a small kitchen/coffee area, and a bar corner for after-hours entertaining. With minimal architectural interventions, the architect has set up a contemporary space that serves the daily functions of the practice. The overall design aims to create a relaxing environment with a strong identity through warm materials, an earthy palette, and custom-made furniture, expressing the firm’s culture and the client’s playful personality. Lena Sparis has also created a complete brand identity for the firm and curated an artwork selection for the space.
