Kofi micro-roastery is a specialty coffee shop located in central Ioannina. It offers its own coffee blend, roasted in the heart of the shop.
The aim of vp architectural studio was to design a place for coffee lovers, while demonstrating its role as a “lab” that produces the coffee it serves. The main design concept of the store was to combine a “rough” industrial aesthetic with natural and warm tones. The structural elements of the original 1960’s building were revealed and used as the main tool for redefining space. The shop is separated in two different spaces; first is the coffee shop, where coffee is served and customers can have a relaxing and pleasant experience. The other space is where the “coffee making” process takes place. These two spaces are separated by glass which allows clients to take a sneak peak of the roasting process, while enjoying a cup of coffee.
