Nestled in a Cretan village in Chania, Georgina Andrei Studio has transformed a former storage area into a sophisticated wine-tasting space for Patriotis Winery. The studio undertook the challenge of transforming a storage area within Patriotis Winery into a refined haven for wine enthusiasts, naturally fusing the essence of the local terroir with modern aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the winery’s industrial surroundings, the design team embraced a minimalist ethos, incorporating natural materials such as wood and stone to echo the rustic charm of the region. The addition of discrete yet essential elements—a stylish bar and sleek bathroom—adds functionality without compromising on aesthetic appeal. A suspended wooden grid above the tasting table creates an intimate ambiance, while a subtle steel and glass partition maintains a visual connection to the bottling area. Overall, the space invites guests to embark on a journey of discovery and delight amidst the rich tapestry of Crete’s winemaking heritage.
