Nestled in the heart of Pangrati, Athens, this apartment, designed by Yiannis Machairas, effortlessly marries modern aesthetics with a touch of 70s nostalgia. Situated on the 3rd floor of a vintage residential building, spanning 72.5 sqm, is crafted with versatility in mind. The kitchen was relocated to the lobby, enhancing the living room’s spaciousness while creating a distinctive, functional layout. Throughout, the apartment is a testament to the fusion of form and function, ensuring comfort and livability. A master bedroom with an adjoining main bathroom, as well as an additional bedroom with a compact office, transform into an extension of the living area thanks to the wooden and upholstered sliding doors. Every piece of furniture, from the headboard to the coffee table and daybed is custom-made by the design studio. The living room’s tile work by artist Myrsini Alexandridis is one of the main standout features of the design. The vintage embroidery above the daybed evokes the building’s era and classic Athenian middle-class charm. The lighting, curated by Site Specific, enhances the ambiance. In its entirety, the apartment offers an ideal haven for anyone who values good design, functionality, and comfort.
