Architect Vassilina Kyriakidou transformed this 48 sqm Athenian apartment from 1969 by opening up the dark, compartmentalized layout to maximize light and functionality. The original isolated rooms and long, dim corridor were replaced with an open-plan design. The living and bedroom positions were reversed, with the bedroom now leading to the balcony, while glass blocks and sliding doors offer privacy and flexible access to the living area. A warm, soft color palette enhances natural light, with playful green tones in the kitchen. Green marble outlines on the floor trace the original walls, adding subtle history. Bold red tiles in the bathroom create a vibrant contrast, while custom-designed furniture ties the space together for a cohesive, modern look.
