This residence is situated in the outskirts of Monemvasia and has been cleverly designed to take advantage of the panoramic view of the sea below. Its indoor spaces are organized into three levels (underground floor, ground floor and upper floor) and are distributed along an emphasized axis of movement, which creates two large open areas. The ground floor hosts the main living areas, while two atriums along the corridor distinguish the common spaces from the bedrooms. The alternation between solid and void spaces enables the adaptation to the slope of the ground. The main material used is stone – serving as a reference to the traditional architecture of the area – combined with wooden decks and panels, fair-faced concrete and hacked plaster.
