In the heart of the Medieval City of Rhodes lies the newly transformed Spanish Knights Inn. This boutique hotel, designed by architect Fereniki Vardelli, is a careful renovation of a historical complex, harmoniously blending contemporary comforts with the rich cultural tapestry of its surroundings. The complex, featuring a two-story building and an elevated stone-built structure, retains its 14th-century charm. Each suite, unique in layout, includes a bedroom, living area, dining room, kitchen and bathroom, with access to a veranda and relaxation area. The inner courtyard serves as a communal gathering space, enhancing the hotel’s intimate atmosphere. Vardelli’s design emphasizes functionality and aesthetic coherence, using local materials like stone, wood, and metal. The interiors are adorned with bespoke furniture and unique decor, including heirlooms from the owners, creating a monochromatic, earthy palette. Custom metal lighting fixtures add to the warm, elegant ambiance.
