Overlooking the Aegean blue, in an unspoiled area of Karpathos island, called Katodio, a new hospitality development designed and built by A&M is now ready to welcome its guests. The new hotel, taking the name Aposperia, reminiscences family moments from the Karpathian tradition while representing one of the most intimate actions of daily Karpathian life – the evening gatherings (αποσπερία).
Three villas were designed in a rough, amphitheatrical landscape following the natural topography while offering panoramic views of the sea. A variety of outdoor spaces with large openings in between the architectural volumes provide opportunities to connect with nature and immerse oneself in the landscape while safeguarding the suites’ privacy. Dark-colored and whitewashed surfaces blend perfectly with the natural surroundings. Every villa has its own pool with direct access from the living room as well as a private courtyard, planted with local aromatic herbs. With the use of natural raw wood in detail along with natural textures and fabrics creating a balanced blend between traditional and new, all elements come to a fully harmonious dialogue.
