The interior design and branding of this maths classroom in Cyprus creates a friendly and relaxed space and promotes creative thinking on a subject that is not a favorite to most students. The branding is based on a smiley face that is made out of two classic mathematical symbols, the division and integral. Its four main colors are also applied throughout the classroom, in the furniture, notebooks, walls, cushions and other props. Designer Marios Karystios combined a modern feeling with a touch of the past by using wooden tables and classic school chairs, Edison bulbs, custom furniture, wood pencil hangers, reused pallets as tables and couches, math geometrical symbol shelves and math wood props. The result is a classroom that encourages a personalized and easygoing way of teaching, and at the same time creates a sense of cocooning for students to do their other homework, projects or just hang out.
