Situated within a 1980’s building in Chalandri, Katerina Selekou has breathed new life into an 81 sqm apartment, marrying style with practicality. The apartment, with its linear layout and park view, is flooded with natural light, adorned with Ioannina and Aliveri marble flooring. Bedrooms exude warmth thanks to wooden floors. The client’s brief called for a multi-functional space, combining kitchen, dining, office and living areas while maintaining the room’s central void. Selekou cleverly retained existing infrastructure for cost-efficiency while prioritizing energy efficiency upgrades. A key design move involved removing a wall to open up the kitchen and living room. Custom furniture in coordinating colors seamlessly integrates into the space, with pops of red for the kitchen and green for the office. The kitchen island, crafted from “black stone” and birch wood, serves as a versatile centerpiece. The bathroom continues the luxury theme with reclaimed marble tiles and stylish black metal fixtures against a backdrop of soft pink hues.
