Inspired by spring and her favorite types of flowers, textile designer Magdalini Kleio Eftaxiopoulou created her new SS 23 collection in a bright, colorful mood. At first, she started drawing countless black and white flowers on paper, while the creative process led her to enrich them with vibrant colors. Transformed into repeated patterns and minimal compositions that emphasized each design, the flowers meticulously blended into layers, creating depth and new perspectives. The collection consists of square silk scarves that can be worn all year round and beach towels designed specifically to be easy to use and carry. The highlight of the collection is the addition of earrings in a variety of colors and in three different styles -drop earrings, ear studs, and ear climbers- that can be worn separately or paired with one another creating imaginative combinations.
“Spring has a way of blooming into our hearts, subtly yet meaningfully, just by looking at a bouquet in a vase on what would have been an empty table or noticing the sprinkles of color in the flowerpots on the Athenian balconies. We are transformed from within experiencing new emotions, as we encounter calmness and joy”, says the designer. The photoshoot of the ‘Feelings’ collection is an ode to color and nature, perfectly blending with the plant nurseries and greenhouses where it took place. In harmony with the landscape, the figures mimicked the lightness of the spring breeze and cherished the quiet of the space, as the silky designs enveloped them in a floral embrace.
