m.k.e is a textiles brand that is specialized in women’s and men’s accessories as well as in homeware textiles.
It was founded in 2014 by the textile designer Magdalini Kleio Eftaxiopoulou who graduated in 2013 from Edinburgh College of Art | University of Edinburgh.
All the designs are hand drawn by her, digitally edited and digitally printed on fabric. Every year Magdalini creates a new collection by using different media and materials. Her inspiration usually comes from architecture, the blue of the Aegean sea, the textures.
Her latest work is inspired by the waves and the textures of the sea. She created small ephemera structures from napkins and she started painting on them with tempera and ecolines. These structures became a series of digital prints on blue shades that were transformed into beach bags, clutches and silk scarves. The concept was to create 3D optical illusions through digital printing.
The brand produces limited edition collections and creates custom made patterns depending on the customer or the project.
Magdalini has worked as an external textile designer for Terra Nation on their ss18 collection and she has worked twice with Citi Foundation in Greece for their corporate gift (one for Posidonia 2018 and one for Christmas 2018).
She has also participated in Greek Brand New trade show, has exhibited her work in Scotland (Edinburgh & Glasgow) and Athens in group exhibitions and has completed two solo exhibitions in Athens.
