The OCC, one of the most prominent cultural institutions in Athens, showcases contemporary cultural expression, supports Greek artists and cultivates international collaborations. The visual identity design of the OCC regarding the season 2017-2018, is based on an expressive, restless, unexpected and disruptive typographic approach.
“In the context of a multifaceted collaboration with the Onassis Cultural Centre, we were commissioned to design its 2017-2108 season visual identity including flyers, posters, programmes, web banners etc. in ways that would be appealing to a large and diverse audience. In particular, we agreed with the OCC to experiment with the typography of those publications in order to present all the events and actions of the season and at the same time to communicate the identity and the mission of the OCC.
Flow type is a specially designed typographic software our team developed to handle the large volume and diverse needs of the OCC materials and played a huge part in the development of the seasons visual identity.
Flow Type is a typographic tool in the form of an Adobe InDesign script and an After Effects pseudo effect that helps you approach typography in an expressive, restless, unexpected and disruptive way. The tool allows the concepts of motion and time flow to express themselves, bending the traditional typography rules. Flow Type gradually manipulates the values of every character in a text box in a linear or sinusoid fashion.”
