‘This side up’ is a table that gives a humorous and playful aspect to the ordinary side table, as it does not only look like a carton box but can also be used as such. The user can stash and hide under it objects that would normally occupy the top of the table, such as magazines, remote controls etc. It’s lightweight and easy to move, and its design is pleasant and minimal. It’s made using a 2mm-thick aluminum sheet – a recyclable and sustainable material – and it can be easily broken down into five pieces, enabling compact transport.
‘This side up’ received the Red Dot Design Award in 2010 and was presented at the SaloneSatellite 2010 in Milan, Tendence 2012 of Messe Frankfurt and INDEX 2014 in Dubai.
